Did You Know?
The following vaccinations are commonly given
to horses in Texas and Arkansas:

Rabies vaccination - Given annually in
areas with rabies problem. This vaccination can only be administered
by a veterinarian in Texas.

VEWT - Protects against Venezuelan,
Eastern, and Western Sleeping Encephalomyelitis and Tetanus Toxoid.
Administered annually.

Flu - Protects against several strains
of equine influenza. Administered
annually or semi-annually depending on exposure and risk.

Rhino - Protects against
Rhinopneumonitis - also called EHV-1 and EHV-4.
Administered annually or semi-annually
depending on exposure and risk.

Strangles - Most often administered to
young horses and is often administered every six months.

WNV - Protects against West Nile Virus.
Administered annually.
