Preserving an American tradition... One equine at a time
Meet Cherokee, Our Featured Equine
Cherokee was born at her Bluebonnet foster home on April 27 this year. Her mom was part of a neglect case and came to the rescue pregnant. Of course we didn’t know when exactly she was due, and Kenna and her family watched over her closely wondering when she would share her foal with all of us. Cherokee arrived and quickly stole the Graves’ family heart. They adopted her but had to return her through no fault of hers.

For most of us, I don't think horse rescue is a choice. We do it because we can - and because we have to. We look in their eyes, we hear their stories, and the choice is made. We will help because we couldn't not help. BEHS President Jennifer Williams, March 13, 2009
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is not currently accepting donated horses. The rescue is currently full with neglect and abuse case horses.
