Name - Adiva Breed - Arabian Gender - Mare DOB - January 2003
Height - 14.2 hands Registration -Not available Color/Markings - Bay with three white socks, star and strip Arrived: 5/20/2009
Bio: Adiva was part of a large neglect case. She was removed in a joint effort between BEHS and three other agencies.
She was placed with BEHS by the courts.
History: : Nothing is known of Adiva's history.
Health/Lameness: None known.
Abilities: Adiva leads, ties, and loads well, and worming her is no problem. When called, she will come trotting up from the field
and stick her nose in a halter (with a small treat as a reward). She has been saddled with no problem, but is not broke to ride. With her beautiful head and expressive
eyes, Adiva is truly a gorgeous mare. Adiva should be able to do anything an adopter would want to train her for.
Other: Because of her sweet and gentle disposition, this mare was named Adiva, an Arabic
name meaning gentle. Adiva's greatest asset is her sweet personality and desire to please; she lives up to the Arab reputation of being smart and personable. Adiva was the
Grand Champion at the BEHS Oct. '09 Expo Training Challenge, which consisted of two parts. In the first part, she did some tricks like smiling, nodding her head "no." posing
on a pedestal, and bowing. The second part consisted of an obstacle course, which she went through with no hesitation nor mistakes. She walked over a wooden platform, went through
weave poles and a gate, crossed a long tarp, backed the length of a "V," and went over low jumps. She is a sensible horse who would do well on trails. Her conformation is correct,
so she could be used in a variety of disciplines.
Adiva is not prone to spook, nor is she a "deadhead," as she can be seen running through the pasture with her tail high and nostrils flared. She has been exposed to dogs, cats,
llamas, emus, ducks, swans, geese, and deer, showing neither aggression nor fear toward any of them. Adiva is pastured with six other horses - mares and geldings - and, being
non-confrontational, is rather low in the pecking order.
