Bio:
Banks was surrendered to BEHS when his owner was investigated for neglect. He and
his herd mates were found with no food or water.
History: Banks' former owner says his sire was
a registered Appaloosa and his dam was a Welsh pony.
Health/Lameness:
None known or visible.
Abilities: Banks' foster "mom" reports that he's doing well under saddle. He does
great on trail rides, and he's learning to flex and perform smoother transitions as well as canter under saddle.
He moves like a pony but is fun to ride. His foster "mom" rides him in an egg butt snaffle with a drop noseband.
Other: Banks has a serious biting
problem and is not suitable for children at this time. Banks would do best in a home who has experience handling stallions.
When he doesn't want to do something, he will bite his handler. His foster "mom" says he's very sneaky and
the bites seem to come out of nowhere. She says she keeps a hand on his halter when she handles him and cross-ties him
for grooming and T-Touch work. He hasn't bitten her in quite a while, but she's very aware that he could at all times.
He also is food aggressive and has chased dogs who come near him when he is eating. He's best left alone during meal
time. |
