Name - Dirk Breed - Grade Gender - Gelding DOB - Approx. 2009
Height - Growing baby Registration None available Color/Markings - Roan and greying Arrived: 6/25/2011
Bio: Dirk was seized by law enforcement and placed with BEHS.
History: : We know nothing of Dirk’s history before he came to BEHS. He was
barely halter broke when he arrived, so we don’t believe he had been handled much.
Health/Lameness: Dirk has no known health or lameness issues.
Abilities: Dirk now knows how to be haltered and is leading very well. He's respectful of people's space and stops
walking when you stop walking. He lets his handler rub on his face, neck, shoulders and sides and flanks. His legs can be rubbed down to his knee and he will allow you to pick up his feet. He
allows himself to be brushed all over, and has no problems with fly spray. He lowers his head in response to pressure on his poll.
Other: Dirk was a cryptorchid. He was gelded at Texas A&M on 7/20/2011. He had abdominal surgery and
was on stall rest until August 20, 2011. Currently he is turned out in a paddock with another gelding, and is getting along fine with him. He has been around dogs and children, is
friendly and curious, easily approachable, and has a willing disposition. Dirk is a typical two year old, and has a great mind. This horse will make someone a lifelong partner
with great conformation, easy gaits, and intelligence. |
