Bio: Dixie was surrendered to BEHS when her owners were investigated for neglect. She has been integrated into a mixed herd and does well socially. She does tend to be quite herd-bound when taken away from her friends.

History: We were told by her previous owners that she is broke to ride. They said she had been ill when she lost weight but she showed no signs of illness upon arriving at her foster home and gained weight quickly.

Health/Lameness: None known. She does have a sway-back, but it does not seem to bother her.

Abilities:  Dixie's foster mom has ridden her several times, and although she appears rusty she's doing well. Because of her sway-back, she needs a well-padded saddle so that she can be comfortable. Dixie may need an intermediate rider, but she can be handled on the ground by novices.
