Bio:
Henry was surrendered to BEHS when
his owner was investigated for neglect. Henry was several hundred pounds underweight when he arrived, but he recovered well. He is a comical donkey but can be very pushy on the ground and needs a firm handler.
History:
Henry was used as a breeding jack until coming to the rescue.
Health/Lameness: None known.
Abilities:While Henry is not broke to ride, but he's certainly big enough to carry a rider. With time and patience, he could make a neat riding animal - or he will make a beautiful pet.
Henry was not gelded until early in 2006 and was used as a breeding jack most of his life. He should not be turned out with mares - he would do best with geldings but may need to be separated at feeding time.
Other: Henry's fur is like that of a wire-haired terrior and thick like you can't even believe. He is an attention hog. Henry loves treats, but he is never aggressive to get them. He would just as much like to be petted as he would to get a treat andloves having his big, old ears scratched. He is low horse on the totem pole. He tries to tell the dogs what to do, but even they don't listen to him that well. Henry loves attention and will surprise you when you turn around and his huge head is about a millimeter from you while he was waiting his turn for attention (stealthy like a cat). He doesn't really understand "go away", but he is a really good hearted old fellow.
Henry has really left a good impression on those who have met him. |
