Name - Kiley Breed - Quarter Horse Gender - Mare DOB - Approximately 2004 Height - 14.0 Registration
- None Color/Markings - Brown, small star on forehead
Arrived: 10/04/07
Bio: Kiley was picked up as a stray by Pearland Animal Control
and then placed with BEHS to rehabilitate and rehome. She was severely emaciated when animal control found her.
History: Nothing is known of her background.
Health/Lameness:Kiley has a corneal scar on her left eye and
some adhesions on her iris from an injury that likely occurred before she came to BEHS. Her vision may be diminished on that side.
Abilities:Kiley spent time with a professional trainer. She discovered that Kiley is
very ear shy and was hard to bridle. When pushed to accept the bridle sliding over her ears, Kiley will strike. Kiley is ok to halter as long as the halter is not
pushed over her ears. Although the trainer was able to ride Kiley, Kiley bolts hard and unpredictably. The trainer felt that this habit may be related to Kiley's serious
trust issues. Although it may be possible to rehabilitate Kiley and train her, the rescue is adopting her out as a companion-only/non-riding horse and suggests that anyone
adopting her keep her as a pet and companion to other horses.
Other: Strikes during bridling and bolts under saddle.
