Name - Mika Bio: Mika was removed from negligent owners by law enforcement and placed with BEHS by the courts. History: : Nothing is known of Mika's history. Health/Lameness: Mika has a scar on her left front knee. It does not seem to bother her, and she has no known health issues. Abilities: When Mika came to BEHS, she was not halter broke and had not been handled. She received little handling at her foster home until she moved to a new foster home in March 2011. When she arrived at that foster home, she was leery of new people and easily startled/spooked. She spent the month of July with a professional trainer who spent a lot of time desensitizing her to sudden movements and new sights. He also started her under saddle. He said she didn't really like arena work and avoided contact with the bit, but he said she was a star on the trail. She went through or over anything he pointed her at and he feels she could be an excellent trail horse even for a fairly new rider as long as the rider was confident. Other: |
