Bio: Pearl is a sweet old girl, who, although takes a little while to trust, is very friendly. She will happily take treats from your hands. She is an older donkey who is still a remarkably easy keeper. She is current on all shots and has had her teeth floated (July 2008) and is on a regular 8 week hoof trim schedule. She is the sort of donkey that you see and immediately fall in love with.
History: Pearl was removed from negligent owners along with her herd and placed with BEHS by the courts. She was adopted out as a pet and companion for several goats in 2006 but when her adoptive home recently sold their land, they returned her and her pasture mate, Abby, to BEHS.
Health/Lameness:Pearl is estimated to be between 30-35 years old. She is missing some teeth and eats very slowly. She has no special medical needs at this time but her adopter does need to feed her where a more aggressive animal cannot steal her feed before she is finished.
Abilities: Pearl is a lovely companion. She is sweet and cute and an easy keeper.
