Bio: Phoenix was the first horse into BEHS. . He was donated by an owner who could not keep him. He was adopted in 2007 but returned when his adopters unexpectedly had to move out of state.

History: Phoenix’s previous owners sent him to a trainer who was abusive. As a result, he has arthritic changes in his legs and is very leery of humans.

Health/Lameness: Phoenix has two lumps behind the ears, likely caused by severe training methods. He also has arthritic changes in his legs which will eventually cause soundness problems.

Abilities:Due to the arthritic changes in his legs and Phoenix’s distrust of humans, he is available as a pet/companion horse only. He is not available as a riding horse.
