Name - Pixie Bio: Pixie's owner bought one stallion and two mares and turned them lose to run on his property. Eventually, he had a large herd of untamed ponies. He needed to cut back on his herd and asked rescues to take them. Pixie had not been handled by humans before BEHS picked her up. History: Pixie lived as a feral (wild)pony before coming to Bluebonnet. She had not been handled by humans at all. Health/Lameness: None known. Abilities: Pixie was sent to a professional trainer with pony experience. She has Pixie leading and loading well now. She has been saddling her and ponying her, and Pixie is learning to walk over obstacles and carry a saddle willingly. She approaches strangers in the pasture now and will let strangers pet her. Other: Since she had not been handled before coming to BEHS, Pixie arrived very wild and scared of people. Her foster home has worked to gain her trust, and she reports that Pixie is still timid but she has a curious side. |
