Health/Lameness: Given her age and condition, the mare should not likely be considered for riding again.
Abilities: Rainey is a beautiful, kind mare who has earned her retirement and is available as a companion only.
Other: Rainey has a healthy appetite. She is easy to catch and easy to handle. She enjoys visiting with other horses over the fence but must be fed separately and given a long time to eat given her body condition and the condition of her mouth. Rainey will always require large amounts of feed and must be able to have time to finish it, free from other horses. She is a kind mare who appreciates care and attention and is making great strides already. She is comfortable being blanketed, and she deserves a good shelter with deep bedding as she prefers to lay down to sleep.
