Height - 15.2 hands Registration -None known Color/Markings - Chestnut Arrived: 6/25/2010
Bio: Sandy Dancer was turned over to county animal control and then placed with BEHS.
History: : Nothing is known of Sandy Dancer's history.
Health/Lameness: Sandy Dancer has one hip that protrudes. Her veterinarian examined her and said
it may be due to an old injury. With exercise, she may build up more muscle over that hip. At a walk and trot, she is sound. At the canter/lope, she has a little ‘hitch’. It
doesn’t seem to bother her but it does make her lope a little rough.
Abilities: Because of Sandy Dancer’s previous injury, she would probably do best with mostly
walk/trot riding. Her foster home reports that she’s very quiet and easy-going under saddle and she believes Sandy could be ridden by a competent novice rider.
Other: Sandy's foster home reports that in their opinion, Sandy could be a good laid back
trail horse, not competitive, but for someone who enjoys going out and just relaxing on the trails. Sandy has potential as a good beginner's horse. Sandy needs a little more riding time,
but she seems safe. Not much phases her when ridden but if you point her at something new, she just needs a confident rider to make her comfortable. She has been a little
pushy on the ground but a kind reminder and she remembers her manners. Her foster home also believes she may have competed in halter classes as she stops, sets up, and backs right
with you as well as trots off when you ask it of her! |
