Bio: Yankee was turned over to BEHS when his owner was no longer able to care for him.

History: : Nothing is known of Yankee's past, but someone who knows him thinks he might have been shown in western pleasure.

Health/Lameness: Yankee is arthritic and cribs. He requires shoes to keep him from limping and is recommended for light riding only.

Abilities: Yankee is very gentle and well behaved. He seems well trained under saddle. He leads well, is easy to catch and halter, loads well, and lunges well.

Other: Yankee was well behaved during his bath and allowed two people to lather, scrub and comb mud and mud balls from his whole body. He was a little reluctant when we approached his head and mane. He was better with the brush than with the comb and really did not like his ears touched.
