About Elvis

Elvis was surrendered to animal control when his owners could no longer care for him.  Animal control then placed him with Bluebonnet.

Nothing is known of Elvis’ history before arriving at Bluebonnet.

Health / Lameness

Elvis has no known health or lameness problems.

Elvis will be competing under saddle in the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with trainer Patty Nuernberg.  He will be available for adoption starting on October 19, 2019 at the Challenge competition during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo in Taylor, Texas.

You can follow their progress on their Facebook page.

Evaluation and Training

Elvis is 12 years old and may not have been off the property he was born on until he came to Bluebonnet. He’s had a hard time adjusting to life in a new home and is very nervous.  His foster home says he doesn’t appear aggressive at all, but he is scary of everything.

He currently hsa to be sedated to have his hooves trimmed, and we doubt he’s broke to ride.

He’s spending 3 1/2 months with a trainer to help him overcome his issues on the ground and get him started under saddle.
