About Ward of the Court

Ward of the Court was rescued by S&S Ranch in 2019, and he was in awful condition when he arrived.  He was rehabilitated at S&S Ranch and then transferred to Bluebonnet when S&S Ranch closed its rescue.

Ward of the Court’s history is unknown. However, he has wonderful ground manners. He is not broke to ride. He is easy to handle on the ground and takes everything in stride. Once he has trust in his handler, he will do all that you ask.

Health / Lameness

Ward of the Court has no known health problems.  He did experience some soreness in his feet and the vet diagnosed him with very thin soles.  He may require shoes for him to work comfortably.

Evaluation and Training

Ward of the Court has nice ground manners, but he was not broke to ride.  He’s spent time with a trainer in the summer of 2019 who began riding him, but he’s still very green and will need someone who can bring him along.  He’s built to be a great western riding horse and could excel in many western disciplines or as a trail or working horse.
