About Ginny

Ginny was removed from negligent owners and placed with BEHS.

Ginny attended the 2016 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and was adopted at the event. She was returned a year later when her adopter no longer had time to ride.

Nothing is known of Ginny’s history prior to coming to BEHS.

Health / Lameness

Ginny was emaciated when she arrived at BEHS. She has no other known health or lameness problems.

Evaluation and Training

Ginny is a very sweet horse who loves attention and grooming.  She has learned to lead well, stand tied, have her feet trimmed, and stand for fly spraying while in her foster home.  She competed in hand in the 2015 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.  She learned to work in hand and over obstacles as part of her training for the Challenge.

Ginny spent a few weeks with trainer Hilary LoBue to be evaluated after she was returned by her adopter.  Hilary said that Ginny is good to handle on the ground and stands well for grooming and saddling.  She stands for mounting, she is green under saddle but is eager to please and learn.  She longes great as well.  She needs continued work with fly spray (she doesn’t like the sound).  Hilary thinks she could do well as a hunter / jumper, she is a pretty mover so she can be talented in many arenas and disciplines.
