About Lil Sister

Lil Sister was removed from negligent owners and placed with BEHS.  Lil Sister competed with her foster home in the Non Pro In Hand Division of the 2016 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and won 2nd place.  She also attended the 2017 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and was adopted by someone who met her at the event and planned to use her in her therapy program.  Lil Sister did not work out for the program and was returned in May 2018.

Nothing is known of Lil Sister’s history before coming to BEHS.

Health / Lameness

Lil Sister has no known health or lameness problems.

Evaluation and Training

Lil Sister is a sweet mare who is nice to handle on the ground.  She stands for grooming, farrier work, and to be saddled and bridled.  Her foster home has been riding her in a snaffle bridle and she is doing well.  She neck reins and stops well.  She likes to walk and jog, but she will pin her ears when pushed into a lope (she has not offered to buck, though).  She is learning to back, and she’s doing great at going over and through obstacles in hand.

Her foster home worked with her in 2016 and won 2nd place in the In Hand division of the 2016 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.

She developed some behavioral problems while with her adopters that may be pain related.  We’re having her vetted before putting her back up for adoption.
