About Chaser

Chaser was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet by animal control.

History

Chaser’s history before coming to Bluebonnet is unknown, but we doubt he was handled much.

Health / Lameness

Chaser has no known health or lameness problems.

Other

Chaser won sixth place in the non-professional in hand division of the 2018 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with trainer Torri Whitaker.

Evaluation and Training

Chaser is still a young guy.  He spent four months with a novice horsewoman preparing for the Non Pro In Hand division of the 2017 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.  His handler was unable to show him in the Challenge, but she did a good job giving him basic horsemanship skills.

Chaser’s 2018 Challenge partner is doing a great job refining his ground work, teaching him to carry a saddle, and getting him ready for someone to start under saddle next year.  He has the potential to do almost anything for a lucky adopter!

He is very mouthy, nipping at people and things.  This isn’t too unusual for a youngster and should improve with age and correction.
