About Miss Treasure

Miss Treasure was found estray and placed with Bluebonnet by animal control when her owner was not found.

It appears Miss Treasure had not been handled much before coming to Bluebonnet.

Health / Lameness

Miss Treasure has no known health or lameness problems.

Miss Treasure will be competing under saddle in the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with trainer Ashley Anderson .  She will be available for adoption starting on October 21, 2017 at the Challenge competition during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo in Austin, Texas.

You can follow their progress on their Facebook page.

You can learn more about Ashley Anderson on her website.

Evaluation and Training

Miss Treasure had not been handled much before coming to Bluebonnet.  She could be haltered, but she did not know how to lead.

Miss Treasure is now good to catch, groom, lead, pick feet/farrier work, rounpen, liberty work, tack and untack, tie, obstacles, bridle, and stands when mounting.  As of mid-September 2017, her trainer says she can be great under saddle most of the time, but she sometimes bucks.  She is improving with more work, but right now she’ll need an experienced rider to continue working with her.

Miss Treasure’s trainer says that she should be good to be a pleasure horse or trail horse, and if the adopter wishes they can train her in another discipline.
