About Miss Olivia

Miss Olivia was placed with Bluebonnet when her owner could not keep her.

Miss Olivia was used as a broodmare before coming to Bluebonnet.  Her former owner also said she was trained to ride, but we have not yet evaluated her.

Health / Lameness

Miss Olivia has no known health or lameness problems.

She is a Morgan mare, although Bluebonnet does not yet have her papers.

Evaluation and Training

Miss Olivia’s former owner said she was broke to ride, but she has not been ridden in the past, but it has been many many years.  Her foster home says she’s very nervous in new situations and can be hard to handle until she gets to know you.

Her foster mom says she isn’t an affectionate horse, but her foster home can now easily catch and halter her.  She can handle/rub her all over, but Miss Olivia will not let her pick up her hooves.  She is working with her on her rear hooves.  Fortunately, Miss Olivia seems to have excellent feet and is doing well!

Miss O has learned to welcome new people around her — as long as they have horse cookies.  She leads down the road without her buddy now. Overall, she is becoming much more confident, less stressed, and easier to work with.

She would do best as a companion/pet.  If someone wanted to ride her, they would need to restart her under saddle.
