About Bristol Bay

Bristol Bay was removed from negligent owners and placed with Bluebonnet.

History

We believe Bristol Bay was likely ridden before he came to Bluebonnet due what appears to be saddle sores on his back.

Health / Lameness

Bristol Bay has open sores on his back and withers, likely from being ridden in a poor fitting saddle while emaciated.  He has no other known health or lameness problems.

Other

The first time Bristol Bay had his feet trimmed (4/10), he as fine for his front feet but kicked when the farrier tried to handle his back feet.  His foster home and farrier will continue working with him.

Evaluation and Training

Bristol Bay’s foster home says, “He seems gentle and willing. He also seems to have “seen it all”; nothing phases/spooks or upsets him.”

He doesn’t seem to know ground commands (walk, whoa, back, etc.), but is a quick study and improving each day.

Bristol Bay is too thin to evaluate at this time.
