About Boomer

Boomer was placed with Bluebonnet when his owner could no longer keep him. Boomer’s registered name is Okies Licorice.

Boomer was kept as a pet for several years before coming to Bluebonnet.

Health / Lameness

Boomer has no known health or lameness problems.

Evaluation and Training

Boomer had been started under saddle before coming to Bluebonnet but developed some behavioral problems before he got to us.  He’s spent four months with a trainer to prepare for the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge but was not able to show (due to his trainer’s schedule).  He spent time with Ryan and Jennifer Skinner in late 2017.  He then went to a foster home who was riding him, but he injured a hoof and is now in rehabilitation until his hoof grows out.
