Dancer was owned by a Thoroughbred breeder who died. His family sent her herd to a “killer buyer”, and a rescue purchased Dancer and another mare from the “kill pen”. They realized they were in over their head and unable to care for the mares, so they transferred them both to Bluebonnet. While rehabilitating her, her foster home fell in love with her and decided to adopt. Dancer was much beleoved by her family, and they lost her to a tragic accident just six months after they adopted her.
