About Humphrey

Humphrey and his herdmates were placed with Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society when his owner was investigated for neglect.

Nothing is known of Humphrey’s history before coming to Bluebonnet.

Health / Lameness

Humphrey appears to have suffered some kind of blunt force injury to his face – possibly from running into something or being kicked.  This occurred long before he came to Bluebonnet.  It does not seem to bother him. He has no known health or lameness problems.

Evaluation and Training

Humphrey is good to catch, lead, and load.  Humphrey can be a good riding horse. From his trainer Hilary, “I have been trying to erase the years of bad handling that allowed him to push into pressure.  He needs consistent corrections to continue his success.  He has no buck, rear or bolt.  I think he will be a nice trail horse for someone willing to continue his training.  I can help just email me at and I will give the simple steps to keep him on the right path. “
