Celebration of the Horse Benefit Play Day - held by Texas Lost Pines Riding Club in Elgin

Texas Lost Pines Riding Club in Elgin, Texas is holding a benefit Play day for Bluebonnet’s Celebration of the Horse.

Location: Texas Lost Pines Riding Club Arena, 186 Hwy 95S, Elgin

Schedule:
8:30am:  Books Open
9:15am: Lee County Stars 4-H Club Drill Team performs
9:30am: Play day events start with Leadline events

Leadline events - Smaller pattern.  Must have 5 paid riders per class registered by 9:15 am in order to hold these classes.

Presentation:  Rachel Steen (tentative)

Shirt Race - 2 riders, 1 horse - Rider 1 puts on FULLY BUTTONED UP shirt (provided by us) and runs to other end of the arena, Rider 1 and 2 exchange shirt - again, MUST BE FULLY BUTTONED UP - rider 2 gets on horse and runs back across the finish line
Mounting Block will be provided

Pony Express Race -  2 mounted riders. One starts near announcers stand and must race to other end of the arena with a saddle bag in their hand and pass it off (withOUT dropping it) to rider 2 between the 2 barrels located on the other end. Rider 2 races across finish line (withOUT dropping bag)

Ribbon Race -  Both riders must ride around the arena (in a set pattern) with a ribbon between them withOUT tearing or breaking it.

We will be happy to have a Jackpot Barrel Race if anyone is interested.
*Riders can roll their time from the Clover Barrel Class or they may make a 2nd run.
*Must have 5 paid riders
*70% Payout
1-5 Riders - 1 hole
5-10 riders - 2 holes (1st - 60% and 2nd 40%)

Entry Fees:
3 Individual + 3 Team Events = $40
3 Individual OR 3 Team Events = $20
Per Single Event = $8

Concession stands on site.

Silent Auction:
We’re looking for donations of items for a silent auction.  Please email us to donate items.

Vendors:
We will have some vendor spaces available and would love to have area businesses come out, support the rescue horses, and meet new potential clients (or sell items).  Booth spaces will be $25, and they’ll be located outside.

Riding/Training/Horse Care Demos:
We are also looking for trainers, horse clubs, etc. to come give riding or training demos in between events.  These will be short demos - 15-20 minutes (we will have a couple of longer spaces available at the beginning and end of the day). Please email us to volunteer to put on a demo.

Bluebonnet Rescue Horses Available for Adoption:
We plan to have Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society horses on site to meet the public and will be offering adoption fee discounts to those who apply to adopt and are preapproved.
