About Hero
Hero was donated when his owner was investigated for neglect.
Hero’s former owner said he was not broke to ride. Nothing else is known of his history. Aside from being very thin when he arrived, Hero has no known health or lameness problems.
Evaluation and Training
Hero’s foster home doesn’t think he’s been handled a lot, and she thinks what handling he’s had so far has been rough. He’s curious about people and wants to be friends, and he loves having his head rubbed, but he can get nervous if you move too quickly. He can be hard to catch in his stall, and he does best if you hang back and let him approach you. He seems to want to please and responds really well to verbal praise and forehead rubs.
He’s going to need someone who can invest some time showing him the better side of humans, but he’s young and should recover and go on to be a pretty riding horse and partner.
