Reata Rose was placed with Bluebonnet when her owner could not keep her. She had not had a lot of handling before coming to Bluebonnet, but she is improving with handling.

In late September 2020, she injured her face and required stitches to sew back a large flap of skin. A few weeks later, she reinjured herself and was seen again by a veterinarian. The injury does not appear to have caused her permanent harm, but she will likely have scarring across her face.

Her original foster home adopted her and then returned her in 2021, saying she was lame, but she had not had her vetted. She has shown no lameness at her current foster home and her vet saw no signs of lameness either.

She is super sweet natured. Loves being groomed. Is not easily startled. If startled, she calms right back down easily. Gives to pressure. Is starting to learn to lunge. Takes a blanket draped all over her with no problem. Steps over obstacles easily. Has lovely fast walk. Loves to run full out in pasture. All her gaits look very smooth.
