About Sir Lancelot

Lancelot owners surrendered him to Bluebonnet when they could no longer care for him. He is a stout 15 hands, he leads, loads in trailer, enjoys being groomed and he gets along with other horses.

Sir Lancelot was returned in January of 2024, through no fault of his own.

Sir Lancelot is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Addyson Villarreal. Sir Lancelot will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 5, 2024, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center. Evaluation and Training

Lancelot's previous owners never trained him to be ridden. His foster home started groundwork in the round pen and then began riding him in February 2022. She said he doesn't really want to trot, but they're working on it. He hasn't offered to buck or misbehave in any way.

Sir Lancelot is now learning new things since he has started his training for the Training Challenge. Sir Lancelot can be caught, haltered and leads well. He will load in the trailer like a champ. He is not afraid of golf carts, bikes and bouncing balls. He will stand for baths, grooming and the farrier.

Sir Lancelot is perfect for the farrier even ground tying the whole time and is amazing for dewormer. He ground ties for baths and grooming as well, and ties perfectly. He loads himself into a cattle\slant load trailer. Not only is the trainer riding him inside and outside an arena, she's been working with him through and over trail obstacles but in hand and under saddle, and she's started working him at liberty. He's doing everything she asks and they're a great pair. His trainer has cantered him over cross rails though and after a little practice thinks he could do W/T/C over cross rails for competition. However, he should be doing much more than just that. He could also be a great English\western dressage horse, he has a beautiful form that seems to come quite natural to him. He's not for a beginner rider at this time, but he'll be great for someone with some experience or someone willing to take lessons with a trainer.
