About Stewie
Stewie was transferred from the Houston Humane Society in 2023 and placed with Bluebonnet for training and eventual rehoming. He was seized with a large group of other horses and had very little handling. Because of his neglect, he is learning to accept a halter and human touch. Overall, Stewie is a sweet gelding who, through no fault of his own, has grown to distrust people, and will need continuous work to improve.
Stewie is competing in the Professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Maddison Amason. Stewie will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 7, 2023, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center. Evaluation and Training
Stewie will lead and tie with only one person around. He is still nervous with people behind him. He will lunge in a round pen with a lead on and is easier to catch with a halter on in a small area. He is starting to trust his trainer and she is allowed to pet from face to withers.
