Pecan did not know much and was afraid of lots of things when she arrived. She had a hard time with people getting near her. With her trainer, she is enjoying life and learning new things. She stands for baths and hoof cleaning. She is learning ground driving and will be starting under saddle soon.

Pecan’s 2024 Training Challenge trainer was able to put a few riders on her when she began showing some signs of lameness. Her veterinarian diagnosed her with navicular changes as well as arthritis in both coffin bones. He recommended injections to help Pecan be more comfortable. Pecan has had a handful of rides and was doing well. In just five rides, she's been inside and outside the arena and has shown no bad behavior - no spook, buck, etc. She's very smart and athletic, and she's got a brilliant future ahead of her.

Pecan is currently available as a pet or companion. She could also do in hand obstacles, liberty, or in hand agility. With time, she may be sound enough to ride but we cannot guarantee that.
