About Taco

Transferred from another rescue organization for training and rehoming.

Taco was removed from a negligent owner by the courts and then placed with Bluebonnet by animal control.

She was enrolled in the 2024 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge's Non-Pro Under Saddle division with a youth rider, but her rider withdrew from the event.

Evaluation and Training

Taco is a sweet mare who was broke to ride before coming to Bluebonnet. To prepare for the Expo & Challenge, Taco was ridden by a youth rider who had only been riding for two years.

Taco's Challenge partner rode in a round pen and around her property. She desensitized her to several items like pool noodles and flags, and she begun riding her over trail obstacles. She was ridden in a western saddle and bareback.

She stands for grooming, the farrier, and bathing.
