About Addy
Addy had one loving owner her whole life until circumstances changed and she was placed with us. She had been trained to ride when she was younger, but she hadn’t been ridden in some time until she arrived at Bluebonnet. With the help of her Youth Training Challenge partner, she has blossomed beautifully. Her young rider says she’s been amazing to work with — quick to learn, level-headed, and always eager to please. Addy adores her youth rider, the younger children at the barn, and foals. She will be a joy for her lucky adopter.
Addy will be available for adoption on October 4, 2025, during the Bluebonnet Training Challenge and Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, TX. You can follow their progress on their Facebook page CLICK HERE

Evaluation and Training
Personality & Manners:
- The first one to meet you at the gate, whether you’re a kid or an adult.
- Loads like a champ, stands for the farrier, grooming, and fly spray.
- Easy to catch in turnout.
- Loves babies, makes friends easily, and gets along with mares, geldings, minis, and foals.
- Brave and level-headed — when something does worry her, she trusts her person to guide her through it.
- She’s an easy keeper and low maintenance.
Training & Abilities:
- Going beautifully at the walk and trot, with great brakes and smooth transitions.
- Trot is great and her lope is coming together. It is smooth and comfortable.
- Working on side-passing, confidence away from the herd, and building muscle.
- Excellent with cues on the ground, although still green under saddle.
- Occasionally crow-hops at the canter, which isn’t too unusual for green horses as they learn to carry themselves well. She improves every ride and continues to get better with muscle and balance.
- Has been introduced to the lunge line with a child in the round pen and did very well. With continued training and experience, she has the potential to make a wonderful kids’ horse.
Background & Care:
- Addy sustained an injury to her withers that caused calcification either as a foal or a young horse – we’re not sure when. Nothing is broken, and she was cleared for riding by a vet. She may need injections in the future.
Why She’s Amazing:
Addy has impressed everyone. She’s a total sweetheart: steady and smart with the potential to be a perfect trail buddy, pleasure horse, or even competitive trail, or show horse. She truly is an amazing mare, and we can’t wait to see her find a person who loves her as much as we all do.
