I the undersigned understand I am applying to adopt and/or foster equines from Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. I also understand that I must complete the application process and my home (or boarding facility) must be approved before being allowed to adopt and/or foster any equine from Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. I understand that I may not be able to adopt and/or foster the equine I want for various reasons.
I agree and understand that Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society reserves the right to request a background check, including criminal records to verify personal information.
By signing this adoption/ foster home application, I agree that I have read and understand the adoption and/or fostering policies of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. I agree that I will submit a completed adoption or fostering application and must have approval from an officer of BEHS before I am allowed to adopt or foster an equine.
If fostering for BEHS I also understand that I am responsible for daily care of the equine(s) I foster, including (but not limited to) cost of grain, hay, shavings (if needed), and other costs incurred in routine care of the equine. Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, Inc. will be responsible for vet care of the equine(s) in accordance with the Veterinary Procedures Policy unless injury to the equine is caused by my neglect or actions. BEHS will also be responsible for reimbursing for paste de-wormers and hoof trimming. BEHS will reimburse for corrective farrier work, supplements, and/or medications if pre-approved by the Foster Home Coordinator. BEHS will also pay a stipend in accordance with the fostering policy to be used to help (but not entirely cover) the cost of hay and grain for the equine.
If adopting from BEHS I agree that I will never sell, give away, lease out, send to slaughter or otherwise remove any equine I have adopted. If at any time I am unable to take care of an adopted equine, I will return the equine to BEHS immediately. If the adopted equine dies, I will contact BEHS to notify them of the event and reasons. I also understand that I may never use any adopted equine for breeding purposes for any reason.
By signing this application, I agree not to hold Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society liable in the event of injury, death, or damage to any human, animal or property as a result of activities or actions of the equine I adopt or foster.
