Policy
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, Inc.’s (BEHS) policy is to operate a Grants Committee to research, write, and administer grants.
Procedure
The purposes of the Grants Committee are to:
- Research possible grants for BEHS
- Develop a list of potential grant proposals
- Make contact with foundations that are possible funders for BEHS
- Write and submit grant proposals
- Administer all grants
The Grants Committee Chairperson can be nominated by any member of BEHS who is in good standing and then approved by a simple majority vote of the Board of Directors. Any paid member may join the Grants Committee. The Committee Chairperson can remove members from the committee who fail to complete assigned tasks with approval from the Board of Directors.
The Grants Committee will maintain a database of all grant activities including:
- Foundations that write animal welfare grants
- Grants written and submitted
- Grants awarded to BEHS
The Grants Committee Chairperson will provide a copy of the database to the Board of Directors monthly and will provide an activity report to the general membership monthly.
