There’s a lot to be thankful for at Bluebonnet this year! This was a record year for horses and their caretakers getting a better quality of life, thanks to your support.

But the year has also been challenging. With so many horses, comes greater expenses. I hope you’ll see that this is actually a great thing. It means that we’re doing more to make Texas better for the horses who need us.

As this passionate equine community continues to grow, your ongoing investment means more horses get the care, the love, and the second chances they deserve.

Your tax-deductible donations, no matter how small or how large, are important. None of us can do this work alone, but in community, we can build amazing things.

Our year end goal this year is ambitious:  to raise $100,000 to help the horses in foster homes at Bluebonnet and to prepare for the horses who need us this year. Thanks to a successful #GivingTuesday, we’re already over 1/3 of the way to that goal!

We appreciate help meeting that ambitious goal and helping more horses:

So far this year, we have four matching gifts:

Joanne Terry will be matching the first $1,000 donate starting on December 4th. Joanne is a founding member of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, a former Board member, a former foster home and volunteer, and an adopter.  “In honor of all the equines I rescued and fostered, and in memory of those I lost, please make a tax-deductible donation so more equines in Texas can be helped.” This match has been met.

Tracee will be matching the next $1,000 in donations.  Tracee is a Bluebonnet Board member, volunteer, and adopter.  This match has been met.

Beverly Zawacki will be matching the next $1,000.  “My $1,000 donation is In memory of my first horse Black Beauty who changed my life forever.  This match has been met.

Since I can no longer ride, what a better way to stay involved by being a member and donor of Bluebonnet.   Money is badly needed for feed, hay, and medical care for all the horses saved especially those from horrific conditions.  Thanks to all the Bluebonnet volunteers!!”

The next $1,000 in donations will be matched by Susan Susan Laue. She says she, “wholeheartedly believes BEHS leverages every penny to its maximum benefit for horses who have suffered. My intentions are to honor the volunteers with the resources needed. This is a worthy investment. ”  This match has been met.

Judy and Edward Bancroft are making the next $1,000 in donations.  Judy has been a lifelong horse lover without the opportunity to have her own horse, so she helps Bluebonnet horses instead!  This match has been met.

We have an anonymous $10,000 matching grant from one of our long time supporters.  This match has been met.

If you would like to set up a matching donation for 31 Days of Giving, please email Jenn for details on how to get that set up.
