About Voodoo

Voodoo was surrendered to animal control when her owners could no longer keep her. Animal control placed her with Bluebonnet. She competed in the Rescue Horse Training Challenge at the 2019 Bluebonnet Horse Expo and met her adopter at the event. Congratulations to Voodoo and her adopter!

Evaluation and Training

Voodoo didn't appear to be broke to ride when she arrived, but she's spending time with trainer Sarah Salter to be started under saddle in the summer/fall of 2019. VooDoo has learned to neck rein and move off of your legs, but she is very light-sided and gets aggravated easily if your communication is not clear and consistent. Her gaits are very smooth, and even though she has some gaited horse in her, she travels in the three “normal” gaits of walk, trot, lope. You can open and close gates off her, swig a rope off her, and she will cross obstacles with persuasion. She could make someone a really nice trail horse.
