About Little Ritchie
Little Ritchie was removed from a negligent owner and placed with Bluebonnet. Little Ritchie moved to a new foster home in 2019. They fell in love with him, and his pasture mate Lil Sister, and decided to adopt both of them. Lil Sister and Little Ritchie became their adopters first horses!
In late 2020 Ritchie's adopter sent us this message, "My heart is totally broken - we had to put Ritchie down today. He had an invading tumor around the esophagus and was unable to eat or drink. Lil Sis is so lonely already, and missing him so much. Ritchie was the best horse we ever had as a foster and then adopted. He was so sweet and gentle .... I'm going to miss him so much! Bluebonnet shares Ritchie's adopters' sadness and we thank them for giving Ritchie a home and love during his final days.
Evaluation and Training
Little Ritchie is a sweet gelding who is easy to handle and loves attention. Due to his old injury, we cannot tell if he would be sound for riding so we're adopting him out as a pet/companion horse. (His adopter may find out that's he ok for light riding, but we are adopting him out 'as is' at this time).
