About Sheza Gypsy Rose

Sheza Gypsy Rose was placed with Bluebonnet when her owners could not keep her. She hadn't had much training when she arrived at the rescue. Her foster home said she is very sweet and a "pocket horse" but she can be a bit pushy at times. She's improving with good handling.

Gypsy Rose will be competing in the Professional division of the 2021 Spring BEHS Rescue Horse Training Challenge with trainer Crystall Bradley. You can follow their progress on their Facebook page by *CLICKING HERE*. Challenge horses will be available for adoption starting on May 15, 2021 at the Circle T Arena in Hamilton, TX during the competition.

Evaluation and Training

Sheza Gypsy Rose had not had much training when she arrived at the rescue. Her foster home has been working with her and says she stands for grooming and saddling. She picks up her feet well, but she does not like fly spray. She will let you mount but does not move off under saddle. Her foster home is working on her ground work: teaching her to longe, to move off in response to voice cues, etc.

Sheza Gypsy Rose now has a nice foundation and it would not take too much to train her to ride. She could be a pleasure horse, trail horse, or even working horse.
