Evaluation and Training

When Comet arrived, she was very pushy and had no concept of personal space. She competed in the 2022 In-Hand Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with a youth handler. They worked with her on ground manners. Comet loves to have a job. She loves pulling a cart and is learning Liberty. She is an easy keeper and easy to work with In Hand. Due to a medical condition, she is not rideable.

Comet is working with an adult, and they've been focusing on Liberty work. Laura has hauled Comet to clinics and in hand liberty shows and they've done such a great job!

Comet, unfortunately, isn't rideable. She had a serious bucking problem under saddle, and a vet exam found that she was ovulating twice from each ovary (so four times total) per heat cycle. That hurts and it has clearly been going on quite some time. Regumate corrects that problem, but the bucking problem and fear of pain is so ingrained in Comet that she hasn't been able to overcome it. That's ok, though, because she's excelled in other ways (as long as she stays on Regumate).
