About Fanta

Fanta arrived at Bluebonnet in extremely poor condition—severely emaciated, terrified of people, and with little to no prior handling (see her intake photos where she’s emaciated below). With time, patience, and consistent care, she blossomed into a willing, intelligent mare.

She competed in the Professional Division of the 2023 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge, where she was adopted. She was recently returned when her adopter left for college, through no fault of her own. Fanta has continued to progress beautifully in her foster home and is ready for a committed partner who appreciates a smart, sensitive mare with plenty of potential.

A previous foster home sent her DNA to A&M and the results returned that she was Quarter Horse and Tennessee Walking Horse. However, she is not gaited.

· Best suited for an intermediate rider who can provide consistency
· Stands quietly for grooming, baths, fly spray, and hoof cleaning
· Excellent for the farrier

Care:
· Enjoys having a job and becomes bored without regular riding

Why She’s Amazing:
Fanta has gone from a terrified, emaciated mare with no handling to a willing, athletic partner who tries her best every day; her transformation is remarkable. She loves having a job, learns quickly, and connects deeply with the person who shows her consistency and kindness. Fanta shows the kind of try and spirit that make her truly special. For the right adopter, she will be a loyal, hardworking partner with endless potential.
