About Worf
Worf's Bluebonnet story began a bit unusually. We received a call from someone asking us to take a horse that they couldn't care for. When our volunteer showed up to pick him up, the owners asked them to also take another horse, a skinny stallion who hadn't been handled much. It is always hard to say no to a horse in need, so we took Worf in as well.
His first stop was the veterinarian where he got a Coggins, vaccinations, dental work, and gelded. He also got put on a healthy feeding program and he began gaining weight.
Once he was healthy again, he went into the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and was started under saddle. He recently spent a bit of time with his Challenge trainer again for some more riding.
Evaluation and Training
Worf spent four months with trainer Courtney Fain in 2022 and another month with her in 2025, and he's come a cute riding pony! He is great to handle on the ground, and he's currently being ridden by a 12 year old foster caregiver. He's learning to jump and is going along with his young rider to 4-H practices and other events.
Worf loves treats and will work hard for them. He even knows the word 'cookie' and happily takes any treats he's offered.
