Whisper's former adopter sent her to a trainer to get started under saddle, but that was long ago and she wasn't ridden after that. Her foster home is working with her and says that initially the saddle made Whisper very nervous. They're now riding, and she's relaxed about the saddle but is still very 'goey'. Her foster trainer said she was going pretty well under saddle, but she's discovered that Whisper is easy scared. When they started working over obstacles, Whisper took some things in stride. But other things really upset her. She can get reactive when confronted with something new. With a patient handler/rider, she can work through her fear and shows great athletic ability. She will need a patient and consistent rider/handler who can continue to increase her confidence both in herself and in that person. You can see you desire to please and she tries really hard to do so. Whisper competed in the 2012 Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge on October 20, 2012 at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo in Austin, Texas. She placed 4th in the Foster Horse Under Saddle division.
