Evaluation and Training

Sunnie Girl is a pretty girl who is the perfect age to train. Her foster home has ridden her some at the walk, and in March 2022 we had her evaluated by a trainer. The trainer said she’s very quiet and willing, but she doesn’t know much. She’s going to be great for someone who wants to train their own horse or who doesn’t mind investing some money in training. She could be a nice pleasure, trail, or even open show horse.

Sunnie Girl has spent four months with trainer Murilo Barbosa. He’s spent a lot of time working with Sunnie Girl and has been riding her at a walk, trot, and canter in an arena and open field. She’s been ridden under saddle and bareback by an eight-year-old, and Murilo says anyone can ride her. He’s even ridden her bridleless and she’s done well. We can’t wait to see what she does with her lucky adopter!

Sunny Girl is competing in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 8, 2022, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center.

Sunnie Girl completed the training challenge and was adopted that very day!
