About Bridget

This mare was found estranged in Montgomery County. Nothing is known about her prior to coming to Bluebonnet. Her foster reports that she is a sweet mare and seems to learn quickly.

Bridget suffered a hernia, likely cause by a kick from another horse, in late 2022. She was on stall rest and rehabilitation to heal the hernia, and her vet is happy to report she has built up scar tissue and healed. He cleared her for riding.

Bridget is competing in the Non-Pro Under Saddle division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge with Kristi Phillips. Bridget will be available for adoption at the Training Challenge competition on October 7, 2023, during the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center.

Evaluation and Training

We don’t know anything of Bridget’s previous history, but she spent two months in early 2023 with a trainer who discovered she was broke to ride and a pretty easy-going horse. She’s good to handle on the ground and good for grooming, fly spray, and the farrier.

Bridget could make someone a nice trail or pleasure horse. She could also be ridden by intermediate children or youth riders.
