About Rival
Rival was placed with Bluebonnet when his breeder, an elderly man, could no longer care for him. He was clearly well loved, but because of his breeder’s age, he wasn’t handled much. Rival spent several years living in a 10x20 stall, but he’s now adjusted to living out in pasture with companions.
In 2023, Rival competed in the Professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and was adopted the same day. He was later rehomed (through Bluebonnet’s process) to his Training Challenge trainer. She returned him because after her mare had a foal, Rival began picking on other horses in the herd.

- Some arthritis in one hock; not suited for endurance, jumping, or high-impact activities.
