Evaluation and Training

Ryder is a 17yo, 14.3hh bay pinto gelding. Ryder is handsome. His trainer has been working with him on leading, tying and being respectful of personal space. He no longer bolts when being led and is more respectful of his handler, but he will need consistency when being handled to ensure he does not revert back to the bad behaviors. He is easy to catch in the pasture. He is green broke. He stands for saddling but can be impatient at times. He lunges in both directions on the lunge line. He stands for fly spray and picks up all 4 feet for cleaning. He is working on learning to stand for mounting. He rides at the walk under saddle in an arena but can be nervous and tense. He did not offer to buck under saddle. When asked to pick up the trot he tried to bolt under saddle. His trainer's goal for Ryder is for him to be his future adopters trail partner.
