Jazzy Jade was halter broke when she came to Bluebonnet, and the rescue she came from thought she might be broke to ride. She spent time in 2023 with a youth handler to prepare for the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She improved her ground skills: she stands for baths and fly spray, lunges in both directions, and line drives.

Jazzy went to trainer Cara Schroeder in 2024 to prepare for the Expo. When Cara got her, she discovered that Jazzy had become a bit defensive (her previous foster home had been working with her on that). They spent about a month on ground, re-learning to tie, stand for saddling, and learn to relax. Then Cara restarted her under saddle.

So far, Jazzy has ridden both in an arena and outside of one, although she's pretty nervous out on the trails. She has trouble relaxing and tends to get a little high headed at times, but she's improving. She's been ridden by kids, and has been ridden English, western, and bareback. She's also started jumping.

When she was ridden by kids in her previous home, she was always under the supervision of a trainer.
