Evaluation and Training

Pollyanna is easy to handle once she is caught and she loves treats. She takes a saddle pad, English and western saddle with no issues. Pollyanna has caught on quickly to lunging and can be lunged by a youth. Once caught she will let teens groom her. She stands for grooming, and she is good with the farrier. When she first arrived at the fosters, the horse did back up and kicked, but with groundwork and handling she has not done that since. Her foster family can even stand in the stall during feeding time with other horses around and she is a perfect lady. She will walk right in the trailer and will stand tied. She is currently kept with mares and the foster will continue to work with her so she can be a great addition to a family.

Pollyanna is getting ready for the training Challenge. With this summer heat, Pollyanna has learned to enjoy a bath! She is being fostered at a riding facility and does not mind kids hanging around. She is learning to stand tied with and without a saddle and is learning quickly. She has a very sweet Personality, and her trainer will start working with her to accept a rider.

Her trainer has ridden her both English and western. She's ridden her at events, on trails, in arenas, and everywhere she can. She says Pollyanna is smart and learns quickly, and she's not spooky or silly. She likes kids but isn't ready for a beginner kid yet - although with more riding time she has the possibility.

She could be adopted by a confident novice or a novice who will continue taking lessons to build a good relationship with her. She is still green and does best when ridden consistently, but she has endless possibilities with the right rider.
